How does Levulan work?
The Levulan (aminolevulinic acid HCI 20% solution) is applied to the Actinic Keratoses (AKs) on your skin. The unique solution is an acid that occurs naturally in your body; it makes the AKs more sensitive to light.
After waiting a period of time with the Levulan on your skin, you are put under a special blue light. This light then destroys these AKs whether they are precancerous or not.
